This painting was in my head for a long time before I even started working out the basic composition. I anticipate I just waited fore the alter idea to go along. Paganini's abilities of playing the violin were described often as amazing and at times change surface demonic and I wanted to capture that in a different way to capture more of his showmanship at compete. Painted with a Wacom and Photoshop in short sessions.. wish you desire it.. great image! excelent color palette!I like the expression on his face and the demonic fingers the smoke is a very nice dilate. Nicely done! At times it must have seemed to his patrons just as you undergo described it in your excellent work here. "9-Eyed Alien, Michael Dashow (2D)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-12 14:56:22

Title: 9-Eyed AlienName: Michael DashowCountry: USASoftware: PhotoshopThis is my family's holiday card for 2007. Line art was done in pencil and then the colors were painted in Photoshop in a handful of hours: Most of the alien was painted with a hard round rub while the sky and rocket-jets were painted with a custom brush made from the "get clouds" filter - it's the same rub I use to render clouds in more terrestrial paintings.(references were used but I've been asked by the Planetary Defense Council not to show them around. Sorry!) hi Michael!I just stopped by to let u experience u did a great job.. once again! hehe.. A bit different image for this kind of holidays but you caught the animate anyway. And I admire u submitting all those awesome finished paintings. where do you find time besides ur regular work I speculate u do and family aside??!? Im mostly stuck with conceptual paintings and sketches no time for renderings at all Thanks. Shan. Linda and Blaz!Blaz there's not really "all those" paintings... "Strange Behavior" took 4 months as you know and the "circle Crossing" piece I'd finished before I ever change surface started "Strange Behavior:" I was just asked not to show it 'til 'ImagineFX #24' came out which happened to be right around when the contend ended the first time 'go. This piece I've done since then but it didn't take much time - one character almost no background. If I'd done anything more complicated. I'd undergo never finished it in time to send out cards for Chanukkah which begins on December 5th! Happy Hanukkah to you and yours. Mike!Love how you painted the eyes on the alien to inform one of the candles on an Hanukkiah and how the dreidels became rockets / fireworks.. but one learns to evaluate nothing less than a very unusual point of believe in your works. hey can i be picky? come up i will The declare on the whipping tops says "a big miracle was there" " ם". (in israel we say a big miracle was here) - so u did use the right letters yet u didn't use the right order of them. There's only one whipping top with a right request and that's the 2nd from the left Happy Hanuka I obviously didn't be at the alter order when I did those - convey you for pointing that out: it's picky but I acknowledge it! You got me alter in time too: I was going to go get these printed out for my holiday cards this afternoon. I've now corrected the orders of the letters to be correct (but havent't updated it here.) So now I'm really curious (as my Hebrew has attrophied to the point where I no longer denote the words for "here" and "there.") Do those two words have different letters in them? Do dreidels in Israel use another earn instead of climb? Thanks for the affix! (and thanks also. Roopa and Tiziano!) ה Also I'll pronounce the sentences in english letters just if you'r curious big miracle happened there: Nes gadol kara sham big miracle happened here: Nes gadol kara pooh by the way i forgot to mention but the create is really nice CGSocietySociety of Digital Artists Powered by vBulletinCopyright ©2000 - 2006. Thus it was a pleasure to hit the books about the earnestness with which poet Christina Rossetti (1830 - 1894) set about integrating images into her books of poetry. This wood engraving is "Buy from Us with a Golden Curl" (1862) by Dante Gabriel Rossetti an llustration for Christina Rossetti's (visualise scanned by George P. Landow for the.) "New Colorado, Krystian Polak (2D)" posted by ~Ray

Title: New ColoradoName: Krystian PolakCountry: AustraliaSoftware: Painter. PhotoshopWhen Earth died few people who survived the jaunt open new domiciliate. They call it New Colorado even ifclimat was not even half inviting as in the first one. They manahe to make new begining though. Photoshop and Painter. Comments are accept. This conjoin has so much potential to be very magnificent. I would work on the Ice just to add a bit more dilate/depth so it doesn't just look pure color almost. I love what is beneath the ice but it took a while for me to evaluate out that it was an underground piece. Nice bring home the bacon keep it up. Thanks Ken. Actually its not ice ;-) Its a planet with a solid layer of sodium chloride covering most of the ascend. Thats why solid look and veins. I tried concept with come down/ice and color particles breaking into town but it didnt work properly for me. I liked clean cut offs of ascend/rocks/buildings. Anyway populate seems to be convinced that ice so I did not do impression good enough. I need to take a break from this image and maybe come back at some inform with fresh eye. Thanks again,K. Polak Looking at it again. I think all it needs is a horizon line or something to accentuate the distance of the chasm and how far off it really is. Because the ascend is very much the same alter all the way from the bring out to the accent when you first be at it the only reference you undergo to the depth of it is the alter chasm. The ascend looks nicely textured. What I meant is that it has the same brightness all the way from bring out towards the background. If you can put in a horizon line and/or add some contrast between the horizon line and the foreground on the ascend it ordain really make the underground area pop out. Just needs that depth fix on the surface to really alter it awesome. It comfort looks good though just has the potential to really be awesome!act it up! Title: biomechanical runnerName: Andrian LuchianCountry: MoldovaSoftware: hi everyone this is an concept of biomechanical robot "runner" it took about 15 hours used photoshop and pen sketch. critics sugestions coments are welcome. looks great... I like the concept sketch style and the detailing is great. Not sure if I buy those hind-foot hooves.. they don't be to synch with the rest of the create by mental act particularly the front hands. The face also creates a fairly unemotiv effect - I'd personally push more contrast. Either make it stand-out passiv against a overt kill-machine body or give it more emotive elements to let it synch with the body more... Other than that it might "sell" better with more context or detail windows... I did some create over corrections. I wish you appreciate my effort. I desire the picture very much but there are some things to fix. You are almost there. Looks good... I agree with the hoove-style not fitting. Doesn't look bad but a different be for sure. All in all very good concept. Would like to see it go to life. dobermunk : thanx for sugestion the first ideia were to make an simbiotic creature this is something betwen a cater gorila and willd cat it can be killer machine but i evaluate this is a perception challenge. aduket : thanx for so hi apriciation :) . KenDMatheson : :) . Mindfields : thanx for detailed explication. I apriciate this and I'm accept with all what you show in 3rd conceive of you show aproximative that position which i present (and i desire it very much it is very dinamic and energetic and its look very impresive for light coordinate) but I want to show an massive running hibride of half animal half machine posible position is strange but it dont be inatural just left leg is more slow than transfer it is lasy biomachine. :) thanx for critics aurucom : :) thanx phix314: thanx for understanding.
